Village of Tolono Junior Trustee Program
Applications for May 2024 – April 2025 Term
Due April 30, 2024
The Junior Trustee position is available to any young adult who resides in the Village of Tolono who will be entering 11th or 12th grade in the fall in good academic standing. This program provides an opportunity to become engaged in municipal government and develop leadership skills. It also allows our Village Trustees to serve as mentors to students who will be future leaders in their communities.
Junior Trustees will attend Village of Tolono Board Meetings, volunteer on one or more committees and learn how municipal government operates. Junior Trustees should be available the first and third Tuesday evening of each month for meetings and various other times for events, as needed.
The term for a Junior Trustee is one year. If a Junior Trustee presents to the Village Board during their term exceptional community service, outstanding teamwork, and demonstrates a working knowledge of how our municipality functions, they will receive preferential re-acceptance to the program and receive early consideration for a second term.
We encourage all students to apply and look forward to working with these enthusiastic and community-minded individuals!
Village Board meetings are held at the Tolono Police Department, 205 E Main St, at 6:30PM, the first and third Tuesday of each month. Special Meetings may be scheduled when necessary.
